Multi-Tasking Singaporean Worker
i had a one on one meeting with my salesperson, she's the senior so she actually wanted to have a one on one chat with me about work and wanna know problems that im facing at work. basically what i'm facing are works that i've never done before but actually easy to do.
purchasing orders, thats all. but its really very hard actually. and waste quite alot of my time. the calling of my supplier for the orders i would like to purchase is something easy. but when the supplier said, "sorry out of stock," i became numb. oh no what should i do? well i go find another supplier. okay simple. i've learnt that
another problem, i wanted an order urgently, the supplier said, the order will come late. so too bad, i had to call the customer and tell them, "your delivered goods will have to be delivered at a later date. sorry."
another problem. what if the order i've purchased, has arrived, but then i realised i'm short of 1 or 2 piece. had to purchase again. but i had to purchase 1 or 2 piece. and that's not nice. so what should i do? had to call them and order another piece or 2. but had to tell them no need to deliver. will ask my delivery girl to get it. problem is, my delivery girl is my boss. "Aiyo! i'm at Ang Mo Kio and now you want me to go back to alexandra road ah?! AYE jam you know! Taufiq, cannot like that lah!"
i really don't like talking to people on the phone. in fact i remember writing a post about my NS job, picking calls. and hate that too. its because i don't know what that person is feeling, if that person sounds like shit, i will get 'scared'.
yeah.... so to conclude, i had to learn purchase orders because we don't have an admin to do those simple tasks. in fact in my office, i have to know all tasks, not just designing, since i'm a designer. all admin tasks i must know and must do.
i believe most workers in Singapore have the same problem as mine, had to do multi-tasking. what to do...
