MCG Production

long time never blog because i was in NYP for 4 days. we had a Pre-Post MCG Production Camp. basically, we had this camp so that our team, Pusaka Seni can practice together easily without worrying about going home late, also we learn how to be a family, we all were like brothers and sisters. it was great.

The camp starts out with a trip to the Theatre For The Arts (TFA). We went there to play with the lightings and had our first rehearsel. the lightings was difficult because we had to play around with the lightings to get rid of the shadows from the casts' faces. not enough time, we did the lightings for Syawal Pertama scenes only. the rehearsal went smoothly, everyone was doing their job well.

in the camp itself, many of them couldn't sleep well, because they were busy watching tv, talking with friends, play UNO, 007 Bang!, Murderers and Thief (i killed 2 civilians siak!).

The problem with this camp is food. MCG couldn't provide food for the 4 day camp except Monday, the production day itself because out of budget. for just 2 days, my $8 all finish.

then the 2nd visit to TFA, we did the lightings for Syawal Kedua scenes only because no time, we need to do the 2nd rehearsal. then at night that day, the women dikir barat team called the committee that they had to back out because no manpower. sad... but at least we save more time. but somehow, its not complete lah without them.

The day of the production was intense, we started out by carrying the props and the 2 walls made of wood, heavy siul! we finish up the lightings for Syawal Terakhir and had our last rehearsal.

and so the show started out with me, Asran, Faizal and Rafi went to the stage to sing a few songs. i was playing the solo for Cahaya Aidilfitri, then i miss a few parts and i stopped and say Alamak, salah! hahaha

the best part for me was being the MC. i was nervous at first, but after my partner, Raudha finish talking, i blocked my nervousness and started out with my talking. then got one part very funny. i finish one part of my talking, when i was about to go to the other part, Raudha talked! so i looked at her in shock and the audience laughed at us! haahahaha, that part was good, unforgettable.

The acting company was ok, very intense when you had to change your clothes, some of them run to the dressing room, others walk here and there, waiting with nervousness. the props department was good. i didn't see them putting the wrong props or what. the stage managers were cute. they were laughing, they gossip! the tarian girls didn't went to their dressing room after their dance, they sit beside both the backstage cos they don't wanna miss the show too.

at the last 2 scenes, the dikir barat team came into the the backstage, they were ready, and discipline! after that, Raudha called all the crews and casts to come out. when she said, "Production Manager" i went in front and then suddenly at the back they were cheering "Mokhsen! Mohksen!" thats my new nickname. and the feelings was almost the same feeling i had in the SP Silat Open Championship when my sapuan hit my opponent. Kembang dok! i'm so grateful to them. terhutang budi lah, serious.

its my last big thing that i've done for Pusaka Seni and MCG. sad, rindu. damned. but my life must move on.
