A Journey to History

yesterday i went to National Museum with Idah before meeting Rafi and Heikal (because they were busy, heheeh). when we went in, it looked so magnificent, its like going back to old times. the best was the History Gallery where you will have a Companion with you that looks like a small computer and a earphone. this device will give infos via audio on the galleries that we're going to.

of cos the history starts at before Raffles. the problem is that they didn't show any information about the sultanates of Singapore. they didn't show anything on it. except some pieces of plates and jewelleries from Majapahit and China.

there were many nice small size pictures drawn with pencils, it looked simple but detailed. most of the pictures were images of the sea of singapore where ships and the island and small2 villages and buildings can be seen. here you can see the treaty and some Europeans.

but i think the best part was during the independence and merger. maybe because i love to know alot about that period of time. the Lee Kuan Yew's summarised speech was shown and can be heard from the Companion. it was interesting yet i felt weird when he said that merger is important so that we can progress. hmm, merger...

well not just the history of singapore, you can also see the history of film, fashion and food! these 3 galleries were as interesting too. tickets at $10 for adults and $5 for students/NSmen. but the history gallery closes at 6pm, others closes at 9pm, so be there early.
