And So We Conquered Woodlands!
finally after 2 tries, the final try i did with my brother has given me the proudness that i have now conquered Woodlands. my brother and i went cycling and i decided with him that we'd go to Woodlands. we did try going there using Woodlands Road but the was quite dangerous as there were many big lorries and many small fragments of rocks. even the foot pavement were not entirely there and they were either cracked by the tree's roots or many big rocks lying around.
so yesterday the road was not busy and we rode on till we saw Sungei Kadut Avenue and decided to go in. it was an industrial area and since it was sunday, the road was clear of moving heavy vehicles. then the road went back to Woodlands Road but instead we saw the Kranji War Memorial! That means we're near to Kranji MRT and that means we're near to Marsiling too!
We went to visit the Kranji War Memorial and what a feeling we had. i felt as if i was meeting these brave men face to face since i only experience it in the war movies and museums. but these are soldiers fighting in Singapore land and shed their blood in this land too. there were many types of regiments and battalions from Royal Australian Imperial to Hong Kong-Singapore Army and Gurkha Rifles, there were so many. more images in my multiply.
and then we head to Marsiling MRT when the rain came and so we had to ride as fast as we could. we were drenched. after the rain stopped we continue our journey to the end of Woodlands, the Causeway. we stopped at the Woodlands Jetty and what a sight, we were viewing the Causeway and Johor at night. We went back home safely, using Woodlands Road, then Sungei Kadut and then cut into Yew Tee and back to Woodlands Road again.
